The Tiny Toon Adventures Fan Fiction Mailing List FAQ. (V4.4) *Created and maintained by Kevin Mickel (HKUriah@AOL.com) Welcome to the Tiny Toon Adventures Fan Fiction Mailing List! What you have before you is the official FAQ\Guidelines for the Tiny Toon Adventures Fan Fiction Mailing List. Everyone is encouraged to look it over before posting messages to the list, and especially before submitting any stories or artwork. Changes from the previous edition will be annotated in the following manner. Any line preceeded by a ** mark indicates that everything after it is new until the next space break. Line preceeded by a * mark indicate that only the line so marked is new or different from the previous edition of this FAQ. Section 1: General Information 1.01 What is the purpose of this list? This mailing list exists to serve the fans of the cartoon program "Tiny Toon Adventures" with a special emphasis on fan fiction and fan fiction related artwork. 1.02 Who is in charge of this list? This list was created and is maintained by Kevin Mickel. *His e-mail address is HKUriah@AOL.com. Any and all questions about the thing, including how to subscribe, should be sent to him. 1.03 How did the list get started. The following is a short history of the list by its creator. Once upon a time, I wanted there to be a better way for the writers of TTA Fan-Fiction, which I am one of, to be able to communicate with each other about their stories. So with that idea in mind, I took the e-mail addresses of my fellow TTA authors and put them on a list for me to send simple mass mailings to. After that, I added the few artists that have created artwork specifically based upon people's fanfic, and a few fans who I thought might be interested. Not too long after that, I posted a notice on alt.tv.tiny-toon, opening it up to anyone who wanted to be on the list. So now I had a fairly large group of people that I was sending my mass mailings to. These mailings would consist of a simple message containing what I thought to be interesting info about TTA Fanfic, about TTA itself, and a .zip attachment containing any and all new Fanfic and Fanfic related artwork created since the last mailing went out. After this had gone on for a while, one of the people getting the mass mailings offered me a way to turn it into a "real" mailing list, and I took him up on the offer, so now in addition to the monthly mailings, there is a full featured mailing list that can be used to talk about them." 1.04 What is the TTAFFRG? The Tiny Toon Adventures Fan Fiction Reference Guide is a text document containing information about the various fan fiction stories and related artwork that have been written and drawn. 1.05 Where can I find Tiny Toons fanfic and related artwork? On the WWW go to http://members.aol.com/HKUriah Archived there you will find just about every TTA fanfic ever written, along with any related artwork. 1.06 What is BGTUR? This acronym stands for "Buster's Guide to Unconsummated Romance," a very famous fanfic. 1.07 The volume on the list is to heavy. Is there any way I can just get the monthly package of new fiction and artwork without the daily messages? Yes. Send an e-mail message to HKUriah3@AOL.com requesting this, and it will be done. 1.08 I don't like the list. How do I get off? Two ways. The preferred method will be to send a message *to HKUriah@AOL.com asking to be removed. He will remove you at once and wish you well, and try to find out what was wrong that made you leave. The other is to send a message to list@acmelabs.com saying, unsubscribe tta-fanfic (your e-mail address), and you will be instantly removed, but you will also receive no further communication from the moderator. Section 2: Posting to the list. 2.01 How do I post a message to the mailing list? Send an e-mail to the following address; tta-fanfic@acmelabs.com 2.02 Do the posts have to be about TTA fanfic? No. While that is the main, created, reason for the list, it has evolved into a defacto replacement for the Usenet Newsgroup alt.tv.tiny-toons. As such, general information and discussion about all aspects of Tiny Toons are welcome. Occasionally, various threads about other WB animated projects, animation in general, and some computer/internet stuff will crop up. These should be kept to a minimum, but are generally allowed to wind out for a few days before the moderator asks that they be moved to private e-mail. 2.03 I've written a TTA fanfic. Can I post it to the list? It is requested that you not do this. Rather, send the story to **HKUriah@AOL.com, and he will send it out to the list in the next monthly mailing, add it to his homepage, and create an entry for it in the TTAFFRG. It is easier for him to do all of this if the stories are sent to him first, rather than posted to the list. You can though post an announcement that your story has been written and will soon be arriving in the mass mailing. In fact, authors are encouraged to do this. Stories can be written either as scripts or short stories, and should be submitted as ascii .txt files. 2.04 What if I don't want to wait until the next monthly mailing? You are always free to post your new, or old, fanfic to the Usenet Newsgroup alt.tv.tiny-toons. Of course, anything new showing up there will eventually find it's way to this list as well. 2.05 I've created a fanfic related piece of artwork. How do I post it? Follow the same procedures for the posting of fiction. It is also requested that images be submitted in .gif, .jpg, or .png format, and not in .bmp, .pcx, or any other one you can think of. **2.06 I've got some TTA art, but it's not fanfic related. How can I use the list to distribute it? There are a couple of options here. One is to announce the artworks creation, and then ask people who want it to contact you via e-mail before a certain time and then mail it to anyone who wanted it. The other would be to upload the pics to ftp://ftp.acmelabs.com/incoming. An announcement should be made to the list, and pics sent there will remain on the acemlabs site indefinitely. 2.07 What is TTBS fiction and artwork? TTBS stands for Tiny Toons Bar Soap. In it's broadest definition, it is fiction and/or artwork of an adult nature. It is not appropriate to post such materials to this list. There is a TTBS list **however, where these materials would be welcome. I do not run or maintain the TTBS list, but if you send me an e-mail at HKUriah@AOL.com, I can help you get in touch with those who do. 2.08 Can I post Animaniacs or other fanfic here? Only if it somehow crosses over to Tiny Toons. 2.09 I have a new fanfic, but I want someone to look it over and offer suggestions and/or edit it for me. Who will do this? ** I used to list various people who would do this, but turnover and changing e-mails make that impractical. The best thing to do is post a request for editors on the list, and several people are likely to reply. And of course, I am also willing to do it as well, if asked first to make sure I am not overloaded. 2.10 I am an artist and have created a new piece of fanart, but I don't have a scanner. Can anyone help me with this? **Same answer as above. Just ask if anyone can help. Well, that's the FAQ. Any questions about it, or any aspect of TTA *fanfic you may have is always welcome at HKUriah@AOL.com Staying Tiny Tooned, Kevin
