Title:  "THE CARROT CRIME"

Characters:  Buster Bunny, Babs Bunny, Shirley the Loon, an old
inventor, Duck Vader


     It was a warm and sunny afternoon in Acme Acres.  Buster Bunny had
just finished his school day and was on his way to the Acme Diner to buy
a cold glass of carrot juice, just as he did every day.
     He entered the diner and was met by a very hysterical Babs Bunny.
"Buster!" she cried.  "It's gone!!  Every last drop of it!"
     Buster tried to calm his best friend.  "Whoa, Babsy, slow down.
What's gone?"
     Babs tried to talk but couldn't.  She couldn't stop sobbing.  Her
pal Shirley the Loon walked up to Buster and took over.  
     "Like, all of the carrot juice was stolen or some junk," she
explained to him.
     Babs regained control of herself for a moment.  "Remember that
maniac, Duck Vader? The one who tried to turn planet X into goat cheese?
Well, I saw him come in a huge space ship and he used a beam of some
kind to steal all of the carrot juice in Acme Acres.  He took all of
it!!!"  she broke down into loud sobs again.
     Shirley pat Babs on the back as Buster tried to calm her with
words.  "Don't worry Babs,"  he reassured her.  " I'll get it back."
     Buster asked Shirley to help him get the juice back.  They sat Babs
down with some of her other friends and then left the diner.  They ran
to a nearby warehouse where an old inventor lived.  Buster convinced the
old man to let them borrow his experimental space ship.  Soon the two
toons were in outer space.
     Shirley was a bit confused.  "Buster,"  she asked, " do you, like,
know where this mondo bizzaro creep lives or some junk?"
     "That's where I need your help," he replied.  "Shirl, if I picture
him in my mind, could you possibly see that thought and get a fix on
where he is?"
     "Like, piece of cake"  she said.
     Buster closed his eyes and thought back to the time when he and
Babs and Hamton flew to outer space, and their encounter with the
universally-feared Duck Vader.
     Shirley concentrated on Buster's thought and slipped into a kind of
trance as she let her senses guide her  Her hands glided onto the
controls and she drove the ship the rest of the way, with her eyes
closed the whole time.  In a very short while, Shirley and Buster
reached Duck Vader's huge spaceship.
     Shirley slipped out of her trance while Buster parked the tiny
craft on top of the enemy's ship.  He looked over at Shirley, who was
holding her head.   "You o.k.?"  he asked.
     "I just need a minute," she said.  "Finding this guy was a totally
huge drain on my mind."
     "O.K." he replied, " you stay here in the ship.  I'll be back
fast."   
     Buster left the craft and made his way into the huge space ship.
He found a long hallway that led him into the main weaponry chamber.
Duck Vader was there.
     Buster crouched down in a dark corner and gazed at a huge ray gun
in the middle of the chamber, with a huge cup of carrot juice attached
to it's side.  
     Duck Vader let out an evil laugh.  "This is the best plan I've ever
devised!  I failed in my last attempt to destroy planet X, but this time
I will be victorious.  With my new carrot juice-powered ray gun, the
people of planet X won't know what hit them! Nothing can stop me from
destroying that useless rock now!!"
     Buster silently climbed to the top of the cup on the gun.  "Never
underestimate the power of a rabbit going through carrot juice
withdrawal," he said to himself.  When he reached the top of the huge
cup, Buster pulled out of his pocket a small super-strength vacuum.  He
put the hose into the cup and flipped the "on" switch to ultimate power.
The vacuum sucked up all the carrot juice and stored it in a built-in
container.
     After Buster finished taking back the carrot juice he quickly
climbed down and ran to his small space ship, not wanting to be around
when Duck Vader realized that his plan had been sabotaged.
     A short while later, Buster and Shirley were back on earth.  They
returned the old man's ship and brought the carrot juice to the Acme
Diner, where they found all of their friends waiting for them.  They
served the carrot juice to everyone and Buster told them of what had
happened.
